Colourful, flamboyant and exciting! The Cardiff MAS Carnival at Admiral Cardiff Big Weekend returns this year to bring flamboyant costumes and carnival creations, masks and headpieces, giant puppets on backpacks and mobile sculptures to dance along our City streets. Last year over 400 costumes were seen along the route from Cardiff Bay to the City Centre .

The 2008 theme is ‘Behind the Mask’. Masks from across the globe will be used, so expect a cavalcade of spectacular Giant Masks as the masqueraders reveal their true selves…

Want to make your own carnival costume?
Free MAS Carnival Arts Workshops at the Butetown Youth Pavilion on Dumballs Road. All welcome, no experience necessary, expert team of multicultural carnival artists, drummers and dancers on hand throughout.
