Cardiff Castle Open-Air Theatre

A perfect Summer’s evening couldn’t get any better than settling down in the grounds of historic Cardiff Castle to watch one of Shakespeare’s masterpieces.

Returning for the 6th year in 2010 The Lord Chamberlain’s Men present The Tempest. Shakespeare’s magical last play, his poignant farewell to the stage – has love, tragedy and comedy combined in equal measure. The usurped Prospero draws his enemies to his enchanted island to exact revenge, yet ultimately finds peace and the ability to forgive.

The Lord Chamberlain’s Men offer a combination of tradition and innovation performing with an all-male cast. A contemporary company that revives the traditions of Elizabethan theatre without compromising meaning or integrity – Shakespeare would be proud!
